United States of America President Barrack Obama said even to this day he continue to envision how his life might have been if his Kenyan father had not died when he was just two years old. “I felt his absence. And I wonder what my life would have been like had he been a greater presence,” Obama  said.

Obama said he loved his father, but unfortunately he died in a car crash in Nairobi in 1982 which left him to the care of his grandparents in Hawaii at a young age. The US president said due to his experiences of losing his father at a young age, he makes it a point to be a good father to his two daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, 10.

He said being a father is hard but a very rewarding experience to anyone who had experienced it. Obama said the best thing a father could do for his children is be spend more time with their children and do some bonding moment with them if they are busy with work.

“In the end, that’s what being a parent is all about those precious moments with our children that fill us with pride and excitement for their future; ”The chances we have to set an example or offer a piece of advice; the opportunities to just be there and show them that we love them,” Obama said. He said fathers around the world need to give good guidance and advice to their children so that they can grow up to be good citizens in the society.

The president said at this trying times, when the economy in the world is not good, the fathers need to be there with their family all step of the way to ease the situation they are facing today. “And above all, children need our unconditional love,” the president said.

“Whether they succeed or make mistakes; when life is easy and when life is tough,” the president added. Moreover, Obama said like most father he had also some difficulty doing his task due to his hectic schedule, but he makes it a point to be always there with his children despite his huge tasks in the White House.

Obama also took time to congratulate all the fathers who had wonderfully done their role as head of the family in the face of the difficulty they face in their lives. He hoped he can continue to be a good father to his children until the end of his time here on earth.
