Despite his controversial win against perennial nemesis Mexican boxing warrior Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez, Filipino boxing superstar Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao remains the top professional boxer in the planet today.
The prestigious Ring magazine, considered the bible among boxing fans retained the pound for pound king tag of Pacquiao despite his ugly and debatable win against Marquez. The Ring magazine writers and editors said after thorough discussion they decided to retain the crown of Pacquiao by a hairline as best boxer in the world today.
However, the Ring magazine writers and editors warned that Pacquiao could lose his prestigious crown if he will lose his next fight or produced another less dominating performance like what he did in his tough battle against Marquez. Taking the second sport in the prestigious list of best boxers in the planet is undefeated American boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr.
According to reports, Mayweather has a good chance of snatching the tag as top boxer of the planet from Pacquiao if he can have a solid performance in his next scheduled fight. The third fight between Pacquiao and Marquez create controversy after many boxing fans most of whom from Mexico, thought Marquez won the fight after he landed more punches against the slower and out of sync Pacquiao.
To appease boxing fans around the world, Bob Arum, the top man of Top Rank and promoter of Pacquiao said a fourth meeting between his ward and the Mexican warrior could happen in May 2012. Pacquiao for his part defended that he won the fight saying he was able to land more punches and the aggressor in the fight. Pacquiao admitted Marquez is a tough boxer to beat because of his counter punching style.
