Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney got a much needed endorsement from a person he least expected to support his United States presidential bid.
Romney was endorsed by business tycoon Donald Trump in his quest to defeat incumbent Democratic president Barrack Obama in the forthcoming presidential election in November 2012. According to report, Trump decided to support Romney since he liked the latter’s positions on China and OPEC.
In endorsing Romney, Trump also said that he is no longer seeking the US presidency either as an independent or third party candidate. Political observers were surprised with the decision to Trump to endorsed Romney since he earlier hinted he will endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Like any politician, Romney expressed joy with the support of Trump since it gives him moral boost in his quest to defeat Obama in the presidential election this year in America.
