The United States government has expressed its apology to the people of Afghanistan when some of its soldiers burned some Quran, a holy book of the Muslim faith inside the American military base in the area.

Press secretary Jay Carney revealed the incident is unintentional and they are now conducting a thorough investigation on the matter. Carney said the Barrack Obama administration is sad on the incident since American soldiers are law abiding people who respect the religion of the Afghan people.

He said the embarrassing incident will not happen again. Earlier, many Afghans were angry when they heard of the report that some American soldiers were burning their Quran.

The Afghans conducted a massive protest against the American soldiers saying they did not respect their religion. The American government hoped their apology will appease the Afghan people who are one of their partners in the battle against global terrorism.
