Nepal Regains Back Title For World’s Shortest Man
27. February 2012
A 72-year-old man brought pride once again to the tiny country of Nepal.
Seventy two-year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi was recently declared as the world’s shortest man by the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records. The newest record brought the title to Nepal after the Philippines briefly took hold of it.
Junrey Balawing of the Philippines, who is 23.5 inches (60 centimeters) tall was the previous holder of the title. Living in a remote mountain village in western Nepal, took the title since he only measured 22 inches (56 centimeters) tall — about the size of a toddler.
Dangi, who has never been married, is very happy with his feat since it also brought honors to his country. He hoped to keep the title for years to come.
