California Girl, 11 Dies After Fight With Classmate Over Boy
28. February 2012
Health and police officials in Long Beach, California are now conducting deeper investigation to determine what triggered the mysterious death of an 11-year-old girl who got into a fight with another girl over a boy.
The police said Joanna Ramos, a fifth grader at Willard Elementary School, died Friday night in the hospital after complaining of a headache. Before her death, Ramos had a cat-fight with a female classmate over a boy at an alley near their school.
Sources said the two punched and kicked each other without the use of any weapons. However, during an after-school program, Ramos complained of a severe headache that drove her parents and school officials to bring her to a nearby hospital.
Hospital personnel tried their best to save the life of the victim but she expired three hours after arrival to the medical facility. Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster said the family and the community were deeply saddened by the untimely death of Ramos and they are doing everything to determine what really caused her death.
