06. March 2012
The reign of Act of Valor as the top grossing film in North American cinemas is now officially over. This developed after the environmental fable “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” won the race for top earning films over the weekend in North America.
According to reports, Lorax, which is based on the popular children’s book earned $70.2 million to topped the box office ace. The animated comedy features the voices of Hollywood veteran comedian Danny Devito, young heartthrob Zac Efron and American singing sweetheart Taylor Swift.
The movie became a huge hit because of its story and the fact that it is a family oriented movie. Former number movie Act of Valor slipped to third place after it only earned $13.5 million last week. Taking the second place in the weekend box office race is Warner Brothers Project X. (rockefellernews/rb)
