    A recent medical study has shown that drinking sugary drinks lead to almost 200,000 deaths around the world every year. The researchers said drinking too much sugary drinks lead to the death of 133,000 from diabetes, 44,000 from heart disease and 6,000 from cancer. The researchers explained that drinking too much sugary drinks could lead to obesity which in turn increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.

    They said based on their study they also found out that Latin America and the Caribbean had the highest number of diabetes deaths linked to soft drinks. East and central Russia had the largest number of heart disease deaths. They added that Mexico, which has one of the highest levels of sugary drink consumption in the world, had the greatest overall death rate.

    In reaction to the latest medical study, health advocates called on people around the world to limit their sugary drink intake. The health advocates said it is always safe to drink sugary beverages in moderation since too much of everything is bad.
