Christian Louboutin Designs a Shoe-Shaped Bar For The Grey Goose Winter Ball

A number of women would kill to own Christian Louboutin’s vertiginous red-soled heels. The internationally acclaimed shoe designer has outdone himself once again, by designing a gigantic shoe-shaped bar for the Grey Goose Winter Ball.

The bar, which is Louboutin’s dream cocktail bar, has been dubbed the “Crazy Luxor.” The bar features a sculptural piece which is shaped in likeness to a stiletto shoe. A shinny black lacquer finishes the bar, characterized with a red trim mirroring the designer’s signature red soles. The bar also features Egyptian hieroglyphics, which depict Louboutin’s love for the Egypt; where he owns properties and visits twice a year.

The bar will be auctioned after the ball, on the 29^th of October in Battersea Park, London. The highest bidder will also win a cocktail party to be held on their date of choice at their residence. The highest bidder will also walk away with a pair of Louboutin shoes.

Lily Allen, Jean Paul Gaultier and Elizabeth Hurley were some of the designers who were previously slated to design the bar; which serves the Grey Goose Winter Ball, held to benefit the Elton John foundation.

Fashion Week designer Jonathan Saunders has been contracted to design the staff’s uniforms for the event. The staff will adorn uniforms mirroring the designer’s 2011 autumn/winter collection. The designer has also donated a custom cocktail dress to the highest bidder, as well as a golden ticket to front row seats at his next fashion show.

Louboutin and Saunders have both come up with a special cocktail which will also be served at the event.

Good news to women who love to wear high heel shoes.

A recent study conducted showed that women who wears high heeled shoes have better chances of having a good sex life. Dr. Maria Cerruto, Italian urologist said wearing high heels could improve the pelvic muscles which could boost women’s sexual activity.

Cerruto said based on her study 66 women below the age of 50 who were all wearing a two inch heel had good posture and good pelvic muscles compared to those women wearing flat shoes. She said the result of the study suggest that the muscles of those wearing high heels are at an optimum position which could improve their strength and ability to contract.

The pelvic floor muscles is an important part of the female body as they assist sexual performance and satisfaction along with providing support to the pelvic organs that includes bladder,bowels and uterus. ”Women often have difficulty in carrying out the right exercises for the pelvic zone and wearing heels could be the solution,” she said.

“It’s good to know they have potential health benefits,” she added.

What happens when shoes meet jewelry; you either get the most expensive luxurious footwear found in the world, or a colossal disaster that reflects a lack of taste. For only £140,000 ($228, 452) fashion enthusiasts can own the world’s most expensive shoes.

The solid gold shoes are encrusted with 2,000 diamonds, giving literal meaning to Paul Simon’s song; she’s got ‘diamonds on the soles of her feet.’ Each of the 2,000 diamonds encrusting the shoes weighs 30 carats.

British jeweler Christopher Michael Shellis is the brain child behind the jewelry footwear. The designer spent 3 years working on the painstakingly well-put-together pair of shoes. Asked about the inspiration for designing the shoes Shellis said “The aim of this was to create a unique form of jewelry which you can wear on your feet.”

The shoes were a part of a huge exhibition which took place in Birmingham’s Artbox in the Mailbox, from April 16^th to May 2^nd 2011. The shoes have caused a lot of buzz and whenever they crop up in conversations, Paris Hilton and Cheryl Cole’s names also crop up. So far, the shoes have not recorded any sales despite being on sale for more than 5 months. Which begs the question, was this too much of an ambition on the designer’s part or are these shoes just too expensive even for the much famed celebrities?

Only time will tell, we can only keenly look-out for the first celebrity who will be spotted adorning a pair of the most expensive pair of shoes in the world.
