  • Croatian and Bulgarian Prime Ministers meet for Business Ties

    Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor has been welcomed by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov at an official ceremony. They hold a meeting after the ceremony. Prime minister Borisov said that Bulgaria supports Croatia’s European integration. The Culture prime minister of Bulgaria signed a culture cooperation program with the Croatian Ministry of Culture.

    The draft of this cultural program was approved on 12th January 2011 at Government’s meeting. This document includes both countries cooperation in theater, book translation, literature, publishing, library, exhibition, museum affairs, music festivals, dancing, cinema, copyright between 2011 and 2013. Both countries have also made commitments to preserve historical and cultural heritage.

    The two prime ministers focused on a boost in economic and trade ties. Bulgarian delegation includes the Minister of Culture, Economy and Energy named Vezhdi Rashidov, Traicho Traikov respectively.

    This is the second high-level visit between Bulgarian and Croatian Prime Ministers. Bulgaria is the first country that will ratify the Croatia’s EU treaty of Accession voiced by Bulgarian Prime minister. Prime Minister Kosor talked about her country’s progress in chapter 8 and 23 includes justice, shipping and judicial reforms fight with corruption.

    Bulgarian Prime Minister has also invited Croatian construction companies to carry out highway construction tenders in Bulagria because Croatian building companies got rich experience in the construction of highways.

    Prime Minister Kosor of Croatia stated that she wants to increase the number of Bulgarian tourists in her country. Bulgaria has lowest debt and lowest deficit in EU. The Bulgarian government also released positive report on corruption and political fight.
