Who said that earrings should be worn on the ears, rings on fingers, bangles on the hands and brooches pinned to the lapel of outfits? The fact is that this is the way jewelry has been worn as long as can be remembered, but it is time to break the norm and come up with unique ways to wear jewelry.
Wearing rings on necklace chains is not a new trend. It is however a breath of fresh air from wearing rings on fingers, as they have been worn for ages.
Earrings make great pins or brooches and can be pinned anywhere on an outfit. The trick is to pin them where they are likely to be noticed, especially if they are stud earrings. The hair can be pinned up using loop earrings or the earrings could be used as add-ons on the hair.
Necklaces are currently looped around the hand, and worn as bangles. Try looping necklaces on your ankles as well when wearing shorts or skirts. Different necklace lengths can be worn at a go, with vests or low cut tops. The trick is to layer the necklaces in order of chunkiness, with respect to the bead sizes.
Last but not least, contrast jewelry with the outfit worn. The jewelry should not strictly match with the outfit; wearing various shades of jewelry can help an outfit acquire the ‘pop-out’ effect. Use jewelry to emphasize different regions of the body. For instance, wear chandelier earrings to draw emphasis to the face or a trendy belt for a cinched-waist effect.
