Elle Fanning is on the BlackBook magazine for its June/July 2011 issue. The 13-year-old actress shares about the adventure behind her new film ‘Super 8′. She also shares some acting advice that she got from famous director Francis Ford Coppola.
Elle just finished her seventh grade and she has already worked with some of the world’s most renowned directors. She’s worked with Francis Ford Coppola and J.J. Abrams and appeared in Sofia Coppola’s movie.
Elle got one of the best advisors and she shares, ”He told me, ‘You always have to love it. You can never just act because someone else wants you to. You always have to feel it in your heart,’ which, well, I thought that was great. And it’s so true.”
As for her new film ‘Super 8′ with the director J.J. Abrams she shares, ”J.J. was so good with us. When we were doing the big train-crash sequence, all these explosions were going on, and there were so many people everywhere—and then you have these six kids. He had to take care of us and make sure that we weren’t getting into trouble. There was fire. He’s obsessed with his iPhone, obsessed with Angry Birds. He’d just be sitting in his chair playing Angry Birds.”
She started her acting career when she was 4 years old. She has already prover her incredible acting with movies ’The Door in the Floor’, ‘Babel’, and ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’. She has never worked with her sister Dakota Fanning. She says, ”We haven’t gotten really competitive with movies yet. I don’t think we ever will.”
