A six-year-old girl has been chosen to participate in the annual Cincinnati-based event. According to reports, Lori Ann Madison, a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia, got the slot in the National Spelling Bee competition after she won the Prince William County spelling contest last week, beating out 21 top elementary and middle school competitors.
