Looks like the prediction of many basketball experts that the Miami Heat will take the crown in the current National Basketball Association is quite true.

This developed after Miami, Florida based team has started the current NBA season on a high note by taking a 5-1 win-loss record against the rest of the team in the premier professional basketball league in the planet. The Heat big-three comprising of superstars Dwayne “Flash” Wade, Lebron “King” James and Christ Bosh are playing superb in the beginning of the young NBA season to tow their team to a best start in the NBA.

The experts said unlike last year, the three who are considered the heart and soul of their team are playing more comfortable this year. With a year of being together, the Heat are now playing with more cohesiveness and focus to the delight of their fans and fear to their opponents.

Aside from the big-three, the addition of rookie point-guard Norris Cole has also added more scoring options and defense to the team. The new NBA season had just started but experts said if the Heat will continue to play like what they are doing today, there is no reason the team will not win the NBA championship from current champion Dallas Mavericks.

NBA Veteran Shawn Marion Wants World To Call Mavericks “World Champion”

    21. December 2011

In an effort to bring the defending National Basketball Association (NBA) champion Dallas Mavericks to the discussion table, veteran NBA power-forward Shawn Marion wants the world to address the team as “world champion”.

Marion told the media that he is not happy that that the Mavericks is getting less respect as the NBA champion. He said he is mad that many people are saying that the Mavericks have a less chance of repeating as NBA champion this year.

The NBA veteran said contrary to the perception of many, the Mavericks are fully focussed on defending their title this year. The power-forward said the team worked hard last year to win the title and they are not giving it out on the silver platter this year.

Marion said the Mavericks will repeat as champion since they will work hard to get it. He said as champion they deserved to be addressed as champion and not as one of the underdogs this year. Nicknamed “The Matrix” by TNT analyst Kenny Smith during the pre-season of his rookie year for his seemingly bionic athleticism, Marion is widely regarded as one of the most versatile players in the league thanks to his athleticism and ability to play and defend many positions.

    18. December 2011

After 10 years of happy memories as a couple, Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa are going on a separate ways.

According to reports, Vanessa Bryant has filed for divorce to dissolved her marriage with the National Basketball Association superstar. Vanessa reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as main contention on her divorce petition against the NBA superstar.

A reliable source said Vanessa made the tough decision to file for divorce due to the infidelity of her widely popular husband. The wife of Bryant was already tired of the unfaithful nature of her husband.

At the moment, Bryant is doing his best to peacefully settle their differences and save their marriage for the sake of their children. In her petition, Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their 2 daughters — 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana — but Vanessa is asking that Kobe get visitation rights, which means she wants the kids in her care most of the time.

Before his colorful NBA career, Bryant enjoyed a successful high school basketball career at Lower Merion High School, where he was recognise as the top high school basketball player in the country. He decided to declare his eligibility for the NBA Draft upon graduation, and was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. As a rookie, Bryant earned himself a reputation as a high-flyer and a fan favorite by winning the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest.

Roy has recently informed the Blazers that he is officially retiring from the sport that made him rich and famous due to his troubled knee. The decision of Roy to retire from the NBA is a great shock to the players and fans since the former is a talented ball player and considered the future of the NBA.

Before the forthcoming end of his NBA career,Roy made headlines in the last playoffs when he carried his team to a gallant stand against eventual champion Dallas Mavericks. It can be recalled that despite his injury, the 27-year-old Blazer star player still managed to score big points to his team that carry them to victory in one of their games against the Mavericks.

Without Roy on its line-up in the incoming NBA season, the Blazers are in for a tough battle especially that reliable center Greg Oden is still nursing an injury. Now that Roy is gone and Oden doubtful to play for the team, young Blazers center Lamarcus Aldridge is expected to once again lead the crusade of the Blazers this year. Roy was selected sixth in the 2006 NBA Draft, having completed four years playing for the Washington Huskies.

    06. December 2011

One of the important piece of the Boston Celtics championship team is reportedly on the trading block.

The Celtics are reportedly looking for teams that might need the services of star point-guard Rajon Rondo. According to reports, one of the teams interested on the services of Rondo is the Indiana Pacers, who are now exploring ways how to acquire Rondo.

The Celtics are unloading Rondo because the team wants to take a crack at New Orleans superstar point-guard Chris Paul who will become a free-agent in 2012. It was learned that the Celtics had long wanted to trade Rondo but found no suitable suitors for his services. The Celtics hoped to get Paul to further strengthen their roster for the forthcoming NBA season.

Before his NBA stint, Rondo played for two years at Kentucky before declaring for the 2006 NBA Draft. In the draft, Rondo was selected 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns, and was subsequently traded to the Boston Celtics, where he made his NBA debut as a rookie during the 2006–07 season. He played a supporting role before he established himself as the starting point guard for the Celtics during the 2007–08 season.

That season, Rondo earned his first NBA Championship, playing alongside All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. His breakout performance came during the 2009 NBA Playoffs, where he nearly averaged a triple-double, and helped his team take the eventual Eastern-conference champion Orlando Magic a full seven games in the East semi-finals.
