    Celtics veteran power-forward Kevin Garnett revealed to the media that he is not keen on joining the Los Angeles Clippers in a potential trade. Garnett said he will not lift the no-trade clause in his contract just to facilitate his trade to the Clippers this year.

    He revealed that when he signed his three-year, $36 million extension with the Celtics in the off-season he had no intention of leaving the team since he wanted to retire as a member of the Celtics. The NBA superstar added that Celtics coach Doc Rivers and team president Danny Ainge had not told him of a potential trade with the Clippers.     The Los Angeles Lakers community from the management, players and fans around the world are all mourning the recent death of team owner Jerry Buss.

    According to reports, Buss died on Monday at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, due to kidney failure while undergoing treatment for cancer. The death of the 80-year-old Buss caused deep sorrow to most of the current and past stars of the Lakers, one of the most popular teams in the National Basketball Association.

    Lakers superstar guard Kobe Bryant said Buss has been instrumental in his growth as a player in the NBA. Former Lakers superstar point-guard Magic Johnson said Buss is a great man and friend who dearly love his team and game of basketball in general.     Kevin Garnett In LA Clippers Uniform?

    Boston Celtics superstar power-forward Kevin Garnett could soon be playing for the Los Angeles Clippers.(hoopeduponline.com)

    Call it absurd or surprising but there is a chance Boston Celtics superstar power-forward Kevin Garnett will wear a Los Angeles Clippers uniform, before the current National Basketball Association season ends.

    According to reports, the Clippers and Celtics management are discussing a deal that will sent Garnett to LA in exchange for fast rising guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan. Sources said the only hurdle in the deal is the reluctance of Garnett to waive the no-trade clause in his contract.

    The Celtics are reportedly offering Garnett to the Clippers so that the organization can start their rebuilding process. The Celtics wants to have a group of young players on its roster in the persons of Bledsoe, Jordan and star point-guard Rajon Rondo. The NBA Eastern Conference team Orlando Magic earlier made the record in a win over the Sacramento Kings last January 13,2009.     Kobe Bryant Does Magic Johnson In Lakers Win Vs. Utah Jazz

    In most of his professional basketball career, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is a known scorer who shoots most of the time for his team.

    However in the last game of the Lakers, Bryant decided to temporarily abandon his scoring ways and concentrate on dishing out assist for his team like what Lakers great Magic Johnson did for his team in the past. With his change of playing style, Bryant was able to carry his team to victory against the Utah Jazz 102-84.

    In the game, Bryant scored only 14 points which is just half of his 28.9 points per game average this year. Despite his low scoring output, Bryant was able to dished out 14 assists to help his team beat the visiting Jazz team. Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni is surprisingly happy with the low scoring output of Bryant since it lead to their victory against the dangerous Jazz team. Read more »

    Who says men are better than women in playing the game of basketball?

    A female senior high school student made history in basketball by sinking in 17 three pointers in a single game. Owensboro (Ky.) Catholic High school star Rebecca “Becca” Greenwell hit 17 three-pointers in her team’s 99-35 rout of Whitesville (Ky.) Trinity High. The 17 three pointers in a game is record in the history of basketball as no other person both men and women had previously done it in an actual basketball game.

    In the National Basketball Association, considered as the biggest professional basketball league in the planet, the current record is 12 three pointers in game held by Los Angeles Lakers veteran superstar guard Kobe Bryant and former Toronto and UConn sharpshooter Donyell Marshall. With her feat, Greenwell was able to score 51 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assistant with two steals in their game.

    Greenwell was very happy with her achievement since it is a fitting tribute to her before she heeds to Duke as a college freshman this year.     The probability that the Los Angele Lakers will reach the National Basketball Association playoffs this year is quite slim.

    With 45 games left in their schedule, the Lakers need to win at least 30 of their remaining games for them to have a chance of competing for a playoff slot. Having a star-studded lineup made up of future NBA hall of fame members Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol, many NBA fans expected them to reach the playoffs this year with ease.
